I am sitting here in front of my window on this October day. The sun illuminates the leaves of the Pink Dogwood tree five feet away. This past spring, that tree gave us exquisite pink flowers--more petite than most trees around this area, for it is an old tree.
When we bought this house, it was cut down to its bare trunk and five branches, and we didn't know what sort of tree it was. It told us its name in three years by pushing out beautiful pink dogwood blossoms. Now, it's about to fall asleep for the winter.
Good old tree.
My husband is off to drive through Dairy Mart to purchase half and half so I can amend my coffee. You might guess by the many mugs I am advertising on this site that I like coffee.
This site will be a holistic approach to life, as in Mind, Body, Spirit:
I hope that phrase Mind, Body, Spirit doesn't become cliche.' I realize that it all works together, although specialists must take command over various parts.
Mind:
The Books and information you will find here.
See Jo's Store, which has free stuff, booklets, and books for sale.
Body:
When I was two pages into Christiane Northrup's book Goddesses Don't Age, I exclaimed, "We need this! We need a site where women can share and encourage each other." Thus, Goddesses Fifty and Beyond was born.
"Agelessness happens in that space where we choose to step into joy and possibility rather than remain stuck in a vicious cycle of anger, fear, and grief. —Christiane Northrup.
Spirit:
Oprah said that Zukav's book, Seat of the Soul, changed the course of her show. First, she couldn't articulate the concept of the soul until she read his book, and second, she was afraid to talk about it, for then she would lose her audience.
Now, she has a show called Soul Sunday. You see how that turned out.
When we talk about Thriving rather Than Just Surviving, we are also speaking holistically. We either sell things to survive, or we sell our time to survive.
Steve Jobs said,
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with matters of the heart, you'll know it when you find it."
